There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing colors. When choosing a windshield decal, we would definitely suggest not going with black. It basically disappears on a windshield. If you want black, choose it as your base color and then outline it with another color for visibility.
On boat lettering, you should choose a color that contrasts your vessel. Visibility is a high priority with boat registration numbers. The same would be true for US DOT numbers.
